The Taipei Metro goes to Damshui/Tamsui, which is a resort on the Danshui River at the point where it enters the Taiwan Strait. It's a popular resort with the people of Taipei, although the beaches have been rather neglected for the waterfront, which in turn became popular when the Metro was built there.
Oh, and there are suburban services from London to the English Channel via the London, Tilbury and Southend line. Southend and Margate are popular resorts on the Essex coast. |

Hey
You also might like to add Irvine, Troon, Prestwick and Ayr in the West of Scotland.
They are served by the Glasgow Central to Ayr commuter line (the same line which serves Prestwick Airport).
These places are popular for day trips from Glasgow. Trains every half hour. |

Ok, less than an hour says bahn.de, so Glasgow was added to the page.
Thanks for the info! |
